MASAI MARA GREEN SEASON, Kenya

The Green Season in the Masai Mara also known as the Predator season is so different to the migration and river crossings that the Masai Mara is known for. On our safari dates you will see the most beautiful green landscapes with short grass that sometimes looks like a lawn, sunset and sunrises that burst with orange and the most fantastic cloud formations.

With the biggest concentration of cats, especially lions and cheetah, per square kilometers anywhere in the world this is a must do safari for the serious wildlife photographer. Not only for cats but the Masai Mara is known for the biggest number of wildlife anywhere in Africa.  Then let us not forget about the leopards, serval cats, hyena and other smaller predators.

This is also prime time for several plains game births like the zebra, topi, wildebeest, hartebeest and gazelle and an obvious choice for the cats that have to feed their cubs and pubs. The elephants and giraffe on the plains of the Masai Mara will give you some of the best photographic opportunities for landscapes, close-ups and silhouette shots.  Also not to be forgotten is the hippos and the gigantic crocodiles in the rivers. For the bird photographer expect to see crown cranes, ground hornbill, rollers, bee eaters, Kori bustard and a host of smaller birds like the Jacksons widow bird  etc.

Our safari vehicles are exclusively rigged to give our photographers the best possible opportunity to photograph this magic.  Every vehicle have an open door that allows for eye level photography, open windows and lifted roof.

We only have 4 people per vehicle, a Masai Warrior as our driver and a qualified expert photography guide.
